Time: 2nd October, Saturday 8am-9pm
Venue: South Gym, Student Recreation Center (1400 E. 6th Street, Tucson, AZ 85721)
Events: Men’s/Women’s Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
A separate division of under 15 all gender singles.
Fees per player: Registration fee includes shuttles and lunch. (We accept cash and online payments through cash app (Cash app ID: $uabadminton)

We will be following COVID-19 precautionary measures advised by the University of Arizona. We will follow ABCD Drop Flight format of play. If you have any questions about the tournament, please feel free to contact us @ uazbadminton@gmail.com
We will give trophies to winners and runners of all divisions. Light refreshments, snacks and lunch will be provided on the day of the tournament.
Game Rules:
-Games will be played for 3 sets of 21 points.
-At 20-20, the side which gains a two-point lead first wins the game.
-At 29-29, the side scoring the 30th point wins the game.
-The side winning the game serves the first in the next game.
-A two-minute break between each game is allowed.
-When the leading score reaches 11 points, players may take a 60-second break if needed.
-If an event has less than 16 entries, then we will follow the single elimination format with a consolation draw.
Note: The tournament director holds the right to change the game format depending on time constraints.
ABCD Drop Flight system:
There will be ONE draw for an event.
Entries will be paired according to their self-rated skill levels.
Round 1:
-If you win your first match, you advance to A or B (1 win)
-If you lose your first match, you drop down to C or D (1 loss)
A/B Round 2:
-If you win your second match, you advance to A bracket (2 wins)
-If you lose your second match, you drop down to B bracket (1 win, 1 loss)
C/D Round 2:
-If you win your second match, you advance to C bracket (1 loss, 1 win)
-If you lose your second match, you drop down to D bracket (2 loss)
Once the brackets are assigned, you will play in your respective brackets. It will be knock-out (Single Elimination) there onwards.
